The Dibber Curriculum

Our Learning Approach

Traditionally, play and learning have been seen as opposites-with the freedom of play on one hand and learning organized by adults on the other. However, at Dibber, we have identified that playful techniques can yield the best results when it comes to early years’ education and care service. As such, we lay great emphasis on structured learning through interactive fun methods to ensure all aspects of a child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development needs are met. 

Dibber's teaching is shaped by the Nordic curriculum which is considered among the most respected and progressive in the world, topping international rankings for literacy, mathematics, creativity and confidence.

How We Learn?

For us at Dibber, learning is not only about cognitive development and traditional transmission of knowledge, but also the things children learn by using all their senses and their entire body. Through play, children interact and train their social skills; they experience empathy and self-worth. Play is a source of experience and competence that contribute to their learning and development in other areas. 

We understand that a well-prepared playing environment is essential for quality learning. It must be an exciting and well-structured place that inspires curiosity and interaction. It should be organized so that children are inspired to play and explore. Through play, children develop, have new experiences and acquire knowledge.

Dibber has 3 learning principles based on extensive research and experience from our 600+ Early Learning Centers: 

  1. Playful Learning - through movement and experiences 

  2. Interaction - with peers and role-model adults

  3. Mastering - guidance, repetition, perseverance and achievement 

Our curriculum has 7 fields of study assembled into 5 subjects, which again make up an educational weekly programme for each individual Early Learning Center.

Hearty-Howard

Hearty-Howard is all about kindness and empathy. He helps children talk about the things they are happy about and gives hand hugs.

Woody-Woo is keen to experience the wonders of nature with all his senses. He is wonder struck over everything he sees and experiences. He encourages children to ask questions and helps nurture curiosity.  

Rhyming-Roger

Rhyming-Roger

Rhyming-Roger loves reading, rhymes and riddles. He encourages children to read. Rhyming-Roger cares a lot about how we communicate with one another. He wants us to be positive when we talk. Dibber children do lots of reading!

Colour-Paletta

Color-Paletta

Color-Paletta loves colors and encourages children to get creative in different ways. Music, dance and art are among her favorite things. Color-Paletta likes to use rhythm and music for acting and storytelling.

Counting-Connie

Counting-Connie

Counting-Connie counts everything she sees! She likes arranging and measuring things. She also loves to measure and weigh all sorts of things in the kitchen. Counting-Connie knows that children that love playing with numbers will grow into wonderful mathematicians!

Play-Penny is a lively friend and full of fun and ideas. She wants children to play and explore every day, both indoors and outdoors, to stimulate curiosity and learning.
